Dr. Marius van Aswegen

Dr Marius van Aswegen joined Aperian as a Senior Consultant in 2010. He is an Industrial Psychologist providing professional consulting services in the areas of international mobility, expatriate/local national cross-cultural interactions, and cross-border organizational development.

Dr. Aswegen is an experienced facilitator, advisor and coach, who earned his organizational insights, from working with a broad variety of highly specialized work cultures and professions, both nationally and internationally. His toolbox includes change management, team development, performance management and executive coaching and recruiting. Marius is especially strong in dealing with the, often complex, organizational and interpersonal conflicts that stem from organizational change processes. In these situations, he draws upon his background as an industrial psychologist and his many years of managerial experience. Some companies Dr. Aswegen has worked with include MTN, Vodacom, Telkom, Virgin Mobile, Standard Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, Hatch, Barloworld and BHP Billiton.

Dr. Aswegen is now a part-time lecturer at the University of Pretoria. He grew up in the South African mining industry with its rich history of cross-cultural dynamics, he currently resides in South Africa. Dr. Aswegen also has a strong passion for the empowerment and development of fellow Africans in order to achieve their full potential.

Dr. Aswegen earned his doctorate in 2008, which focused on the development and validation of an adjustment model for expatriates when designated to international assignments in foreign countries. He received his MA in Human Resource Management from the University of Pretoria in 1996.
